Kiwanis Club of Southshore, Sun City Center Florida
Kids Need Kiwanis. Our Community Needs You.
Serving Children. Strengthening Our Community. Building Brighter Futures.
For more than 50 years, the Kiwanis Club of SouthShore has been making a difference in the lives of children and families throughout our community.
From Apollo Beach, Ruskin and Sun City Center to Wimauma and Riverview, our members put service into action. We support children in our schools, encourage literacy and academic achievement, develop young leaders, provide scholarships and create opportunities for families to learn, grow and thrive.
We are neighbors, friends, business and community leaders, and volunteers who believe that every child deserves someone in their corner.
And we’d love for you to be part of what we’re doing.

Diane Heiler is the author of A Widow’s Fire: An Intimate Memoir of Heartbreak, Survival, andMoving On and a former caregiver who walked alongside her husbandthrough a stage four cancer diagnosis. Her story is honest, heartfelt, anddeeply relatable. In addition to speaking about love, loss, and resilience,Diane also shares what it looked like to find love again and start over — evenwhen that path was complicated and not always understood by her adult children.
Her message is not about doing what’s easy or expected, but about listening to yourself, honoring your own healing, and making choicesthat are right for you at this stage of life. Diane has a warm, conversationalstyle and connects especially well with audiences who have lived full lives andnavigated family, caregiving, grief, and reinvention.
